The Ancienne Gendarmerie is in a quiet side street, approx. 100 metres from the Atlantic so that you have a marvellous view over the sea and the Ile de Groix from your rooms. Le Pouldu invites you to swim and take long walks on the cliff paths. The surrounding countryside is densely wooded and there are 5 different sandy bays within walking distance. Just follow the roar of the sea to the beach!
Shopping facilities (for bread, vegetables, groceries and foreign newspapers) are approx. 2 minutes walk from the house (only open in the peak season). Outside the season there is a bakery and a grocery shop 1 km away. There are other shops and supermarkets in nearby villages and towns. It is possible to buy freshly caught fish and seafood in the small romantic port of Doelan.
Locally there is a pancake bar, restaurants, a pizzeria and cafés. A very good fish restaurant in the port of Le Pouldu is highly recommended (some catering establishments are only open in the peak season). |  | | Click photos for details |  |

Fuchsia Cottage is in a quiet rural hamlet situated only minutes away from the two towns of Plouguenast and Ploeuc sur Lie, each with a variety of shops and restaurants, and 10 minutes from the medieval town of Moncontour. Within half and hour there is the coastal town of St. Brieuc which has both a traditional town centre and a large retail shopping complex, including Carrefour.
The ground floor comprises an open plan living room with television, dining area and a well equipped kitchen area. There is also a ground floor Shower room with walk in thermostatically controlled shower, vanity unit with wash basin and toilet. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. Outside, there is a 10m x 5m outdoor swimming pool and a private sitting area with patio table and chairs and a barbeque. La Belle Maison is one of two sympathetically renovated self-catering vacation rentals set in spacious grounds, with the English owner’s home, 3km from the small market town of Plessala. The area is rich in history, whilst the forest and River Lié are ideally placed for rambling, cycling, bird-watching, fishing or sketching. There are plenty of good places to eat locally and several interesting markets for traditional shopping along with easy access to a choice of larger shopping centres, sporting facilities and tourist attractions.
The traditional Breton cottage gîte has two bedrooms, one double and one twin, with shutters – ideal for long lie-ins; an optional travel cot can be easily accommodated in either room. There is a large well equipped kitchen-diner and separate sitting room with wood burner, TV and DVD and original chestnut flooring. A roomy shower room completes the accommodation, which is on one level, approached via a short flight of steps through the south facing, private, enclosed garden with barbecue and outdoor dining area.
