Dating from C1800, Mill Cottage faces South in a sublime rural setting, surrounded by unspoilt pasture land. It is part of the old miller’s house which stands adjacent to the former water mill, forming a completely self-contained private dwelling with its own secluded cottage garden.
A wonderful, peaceful retreat from which to explore the Cotswolds and Shakespeare country. The Cottage is furnished and equipped to the highest standard, earning it an English Tourism Council 4 Star rating. Built of local honey-coloured stone, the cottage stands in 3½ acres of land, which includes a smallholding where we keep poultry and sheep.
Situated 1½ miles from the attractive small market town of Chipping Norton, perched on a hill overlooking Glyme and Evenlode valleys – a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

It is set behind a pretty front garden with mature trees and shrubs overlooking the attractive village green and duck pond. Mallards and their offspring can be seen waddling around the footpaths and settling in villagers’ gardens – a lovely sight! Within a short stroll there are two local inns serving excellent food, a post office and a general store serving most needs.
The cottage is within yards of open countryside and ideally placed to visit the surrounding <b>Cotswold villages of Broadway (just over a mile),</b> Chipping Camden, Stow on the Wold, and <b>Stratford upon Avon</b> (with Royal Shakespeare Company) is approximately 10 miles away. Flowers Barn sits directly to the right of Manor Farm and is a detached Cotswold stone Grade II listed barn conversion dating back to the 1750’s. It was formerly used as stabling for 10 working horses, the family favourite know as Flower hence the property’s name.
We have sympathetically converted this residence paying particular attention to the spacious high quality interior and for full appreciation of the wonderful far-reaching meadowland views we purposely planned the living accommodation on the first floor. The open plan living room is a major feature of the barn with its exposed beams and traditional door leading down onto original stone steps.
The fitted well appointed kitchen is situated next to the living accommodation and benefits from a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave and cooker.
On entry to Flowers Barn you are greeted by a flagstone reception hall leading to the majority of ground floor rooms and a staircase leading to the first floor living accommodation.

The village of Shipton-Under-Wychwood is situated in the heart of the Cotswolds and offers wonderful walks and cosy country pubs. The property, while retaining its original beams and stonewalls, has all the mod cons, including power showers, dishwashers and Sky TV. In addition to the wonderful panoramic views there are often some fantastic sunsets. The windows open onto the paddock with two friendly ponies.
Shipton-Under-Wychwood station is a five-minute walk, accessible by train straight form Paddington as a request stop.
