The open plan living room has dining and well equipped kitchen areas. A curving staircase leads to 2 single bedrooms and bathroom with small bath tub with shower. The smaller single bedroom has a junior divan.
Another narrow staircase leads to the cosy, beamed, double-bedded loft bedroom.

Our Red Brick Barn is located on a hillside in the beautiful, unspoilt "North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty", and just outside the tiny village of Rookhope.
The Barn is situated close to our home within 7 acres of farmland which you can freely roam. We have hens, ducks and geese and so eggs are plentiful. We can provide meals and packed lunches although the barn has a fully equipped kitchen. A laundry service is available.
There are many public footpaths on our doorstep along with plenty of other activities or you may wish to just relax and enjoy the peace away from the usual hectic routines.

The farm offers seclusion and peace to those who desire it. However, the wonderful tourist attractions of North West Durham and Northumbria are easily accessible. Places like Durham City, Newcastle, Hexham, Corbridge and the Metro Centre offer the ultimate in shopping experience.
The Roman Wall, various Roman forts, numerous Castles, Cathedral, Abbeys and other historical sites are within easy travelling distance.
We have Beamish Museum, Killhope Wheel and many other museums well worth a visit.
On top of all this the countryside is especially attractive for walking and cycling.
There are several supermarkets within easy driving distance. A selection of takeaways, pubs and hotels within easy driving distance.
There is plenty of safe parking space in the farmyard.

| BURNBRAE COTTAGE, St. John's Chaple Sleeping up to 5 people
Burnbrae is a spacious detached stone built cottage dating from 1895 situated very close to the shops, inns, restaurant and market square. The cottage is set back from the main street with its own lawned garden and off street parking.
St. John's Chaple is a pleasant village with a small market square, well served by its half dozen shops, three pubs and two churches. There is a regular bus service to Alston and Stanhope.
St. John's Chaple is situated on the A689 Alston to Stanhope road. The house is located 20 metres off the main road, down a driveway, behind the newsagent. Brunbrae is in the centre of the village as the main road passes over and old stone bridge. |  | | Click photos for details |  |

| FIVE GABLES COTTAGE, Binchester Sleeping up to 5 people
Five Gables is a Victorian miner's cottage with country views built circa 1860, opposite the owners' home. Completely re-furbished with facilities and equipment for five guests to sleep in two bedrooms. Lawn, gardens and parking to rear. A footpath leads to the woods and Auckland Walk, useful for exercising dogs and their owners.
<b>The cottage is some fifteen minutes from Durham, two hours from York or the Lake District, an hour and a half from the Scottish Borders and three hours from Edinburgh.</B>
It is an ideal centre for Durham World Heritage Site, the Dales, sea-side, North Yorkshire and North East England. There are several golf courses in the area, as well as a number of pubs who serve good and reasonably priced food.
<b>Short breaks are available for 4 nights commencing Saturday or 3 nights commencing Wednesday.
