Long Meg and her Daughters, one of England's finest Stone Circles and Little Meg cairn circle is just down the road near Little Salkheld. The Village shop & pub are only 3 miles away. There are traditional English Maypoles at Temple Sowerby and the nearby village of Milburn. Hadrian's Wall and Carlisle are a short drive away. If you would like to do some shopping Newcastle and the Metro Centre are about one hours drive away.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Upper Eskdale, Wha House is a working farm with approximately 800 sheep. The cottage is ideal for walkers wanting to explore the quieter side of the Lakes. The Woolpack Inn is a 10 minute walk away and serves good food and real ales. Boot village with its small shop, the Burnmoor Inn and Poachers Bar (both of which also serve food and real ale) is around a half hour walk. Eskdale also has a village shop which sells groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, food to go, alcohol and newspapers.
Warm and comfortable, the cottage has one bedroom with two single beds which can be pushed together, and a shower room with high pressure shower, toilet and sink. The kitchen is fully equipped and leads through to the lounge area with TV and video.
There are hundreds of walks right from the door - up Scafell (the highest mountain in England), Harter fell, across the fells to Wasdale with Wastwater (the deepest lake in England), or down the valley bottom, following the river Esk, past Stanley Gyhll waterfall to Ravenglass Estuary. No crowds, few cars, just wonderful high fells, a beautiful river and ancient woodlands to explore in a lovely quiet valley of old Westmorland. Bluebell Cottage is a delightful place; it has just been completely renovated to a very high standard and is luxuriously comfortable, furnished in country style, with Liberty and Laura Ashley fabrics, antique pine furniture, an old elm staircase and little curios in the nooks and crannies.
The lounge has a real log fire, beamed ceiling, windows overlooking the garden, comfortable sofas, occasional tables and lamps, colour television, DVD player and films, and dining table and chairs. The pretty, country style bedroom has a beamed ceiling, windows overlooking the garden, comfortable double bed and antique pine furniture. The Hayloft is equipped with fridge, microwave, washer/dryer, colour TV, Freeview, DVD/CD player, radio, electric and heating included, linen, blankets, duvets, towels and power shower over the bath. Sleeps two people plus baby.
The Hayloft has its own private entrance door, with stairway leading to a large open plan living room with kitchen on one side. There is a bedroom with a double bed and room for a cot, if required. A separate bathroom provides a bath with a power shower over and a toilet. French doors look out directly to the gardens.

An area largely undiscovered by tourists, it is an ideal location for holidays away from it all. The Eden Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with an undulating landscape of fields, woods and dry stone walls. It is one of the last remaining bastions of the red squirrel in the UK. From the cottage you can walk directly into the Pennines, and the C2C cycle route passes nearby, along quiet country lanes. The pretty sandstone villages of the Eden Valley can be explored, some of which boast award-winning pubs. It is ideally placed for exploring Hadrian's Wall, (1/2 hour), Northumberland and the Lake District. This traditional Lakeland cottage has recently been completely renovated and refurbished to provide everything you need for a comfortable holiday, including full gas central heating and woodburning stove. It has a new fitted, well equipped kitchen with gas hob, fridge, electric fan oven, microwave etc, and living room with comfortable sofa, dining table and chairs, woodburning stove, TV, DVD and Hi-fi. It has one lovely sunny bedroom with King-size bed and antique pine furniture, and comfortably sleeps 2, although it can sleep 4 using 2 comfortable fold-up beds in the living room. The newly fitted bathroom has bath and over-bath screened thermostatic shower. Towels and linen can be provided by arrangement. Note that the cottage is smoke free.
Lindale is close to the whole range of activities and attractions that the southern Lakes area offers - all kinds of outdoor activity and many interesting places to visit. There are many local walks directly from the cottage which give wonderful views over Morecambe Bay and the Lake District fells, and all grades of walking and climbing around the Lakeland area are easy to reach. Lake Windermere and Kendal are only 10-15 minutes away.

Apple Tree House is a very spacious, warm, sandstone terraced cottage in the quiet village of Ullock, just 4 miles from Loweswater and surrounding fells, with the stunning Ennerdale and Crummock Lakes close-by. This is the quiet, and many would say the most picturesque side of the Lakes, with many beautiful fells, lakes and tarns to explore.
Recently refurbished to a high standard the cottage has a dining kitchen and two double bedrooms upstairs, one en-suite with a large shower. The other double is arranged as a twin. There is a separate bathroom downstairs and central heating throughout. The rear garden faces south and is a sun trap from mid -morning.
The quaint market town of Cockermouth is a 10 minute drive and Keswick about 20 minutes. There are excellent pubs close by, the nearest in the village of Dean roughly 10 minutes walk or two minutes drive. The acclaimed Kirkstyle Inn is 10 minutes drive. Buttermere, Pillar, Eskdale and Wasdale are very accessible for the more accomplished walkers or climbers.

This charming 17th Century Grade II Listed traditional Lakeland cottage is situated in the heart of Ambleside. It is convenient for all local amenities including a good selection of shops and restaurants and is also an ideal base for walkers. Windermere, Rydal Water and Grasmere are all within walking distance and Coniston Water and Tarn Hows are no more than a short drive from Ambleside.
The cottage has the benefit of full gas central heating. There are two bedrooms, a snug sitting room / diner with an open fire and colour television and video recorder and a fully fitted kitchen including a dishwasher and microwave. The bathroom has a mixer shower over the bath, a shaver point and a heated towel rail. Coal is provided as part of the weekly tariff. Electricity and gas are on-charged at cost.
The small South West facing garden / sitting out area at the back of the cottage is a little sun trap. The nearest car parking area is about 50 meters from the cottage or there is one hour parking immediately outside the cottage.

150 metres from public roads, on a small farm near a hilltop between Coniston and Windermere lakes, Hatter’s Cottage is beautifully situated beside a small stream, surrounded by gardens, fields, orchard and woodland, with mountain views. The picturesque village of Hawkshead with post office, shops, and several pubs is 1 mile away. One can walk or cycle from the door in all directions on footpaths, quiet lanes and forest tracks. Mountain walking, boating, pony trekking and rock climbing are available nearby.
Heated throughout, this traditional cottage has been totally renovated, yet retaining character features such as the stone hearth and wooden beams. The cosy living room has windows at the front and back, looking out onto the cottage's private garden and to woodland where hens roam beside the stream. Rubys Cottage is situated on the outskirts of Sedbergh which has recently been designated ‘Book Town of England’. The cottage, Grade II listed and part of a former Mill, has been renovated to a high standard providing cosy accommodation for up to four people, but due to the open beck (stream) at the rear the cottage is not considered suitable for children. Tastefully decorated the lounge has a traditional appeal with stone flagged floors, a range - including original ovens and open fire. There is kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom, parking space and rear seating area by the beck with views to the surrounding fells.
In the immediate area The Howgills offer 40 square miles of walking country suitable for the beginner and experienced walker alike, with several summits of over 2000ft. Whilst at low level there are many picturesque walks by the local rivers of the Clough, Dee, Rawthey and Lune.

The cottage is surrounded by woodland at the rear with stunning views to Rydal Water and Loughrigg Fell from the South facing garden (with decked seating) and first floor bedrooms. There are numerous walks to suit all abilities and ambitions some of which start directly outside the cottage.
The cottage is situated in an elevated position on a quiet lane above Grasmere which is reassuring for families with young children. Adjacent to the garden is the off road private parking area with one dedicated parking space for each cottage. Tarn Cottages is no more than 10 minutes walk downhill to Dove Cottage and a little further to the centre of Grasmere. Rydal Mount is only one mile away along the bridal way that starts close by.
A number of original features have been preserved to maintain the charm of the cottage including slate flagged flooring, exposed beams and an open fire place. There two bedrooms (one double, one twin) both with views over woodland towards Rydal Water and Loughrigg Fell.
