3 Cottages - Moorfield was built in 1861 by a local family who made their fortune from the many cotton mills in the surrounding area. Nestling amongst the foothills of Kinder Scout the estate’s location is excellent for fell-walking and site-seeing alike.
With the departure of its original residents Moorfield was divided into a number of individual properties including Moorfield Lodge, the Old Billiard Room and the Garden Flat. Guests are welcome to use the 5 acre grounds of Moorfield House during their stay.
Comfortably sleeping 4 to 6, Moorfield Lodge provides an excellent centre for a family holiday in Derbyshire.
Sleeping 2, with space for a third if required the Old Billiard Room is an excellent base for a couple or small family seeking a self-catering holiday in the Peak District.

Ideal base for touring Peak District. The cottage retains many original features, such as stone flags throughout the ground floor.
Hayfield is a <b>walkers paradise lying at the foot of Kinder Scout and close to Edale</b> with plenty of shops, 5 pubs, 2 restaurants and fish and chips cafe. Within 30 minutes drive away are Buxton, Castleton and its caves, and the stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall.

There is good walking from the door. Cycling on the nearby trails. The Peak National Park and Dovedale are just over the Weaver hills. Visit the many stately homes. Alton Towers is only 10mins drive. There is fishing, riding, golf, water and adventure sports and free use of local tennis courts. Antique hunting in Leek and Ashbourne(6 miles), a picturesque market town "The Gateway to Dovedale" where cobbled squares are lined with shops, galleries, inns and restaurants.
