The cottage is set in a lush valley and you are free to wander around seven acres of fields, garden and woodland bounded by Rookery Brook. The property is one mile from Bridford and one mile from Christow in the Teign Valley just inside Dartmoor National Park. Nearby are some excellent pubs and restaurants as well as many tourist destinations and facilities for walking, golfing, fishing, bird watching and riding. The nearest beaches are only 30 minutes drive away and those in East Devon and South Hams slightly further. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen, digital TV with freeview, radio and CD player, log-effect heater and storage heaters, hairdryer and bathrobes. WREN COTTAGE, Watermouth Sleeping up to 2 people 10 Cottages - Widmouth Farm Cottages are an ideal base for exploring Exmoor and the North Devon Coastline on foot or by car. The coastal footpath runs around the edge of the owners' 35 acre property forming part of the 180 mile Tarka Trail. The cottages have been tastefully converted from a round barn, stone barns and workers cottages c.1800. Attractions within 15 minutes drive include Watermouth Castle (a family theme park) Exmoor Zoo, Exmoor Steam Railway and the Wildlife and Dinosaur park. For the younger guests there are chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep and a tame goat on the farm. SHILLINGS COTTAGE, Hemyock Sleeping up to 2 people This cosy, beamed, detached cottage, with use of owner's large heated swimming pool, lies hidden at the end of a private drive. Set in an idyllic 6 acres of private gardens, orchards and meadows in the unspoilt Blackdown Hills (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) with stunning views of the Culm valley and beyond, yet an easy walk from village with Castle, pub, shops and tennis courts. Upstairs lies a brass, king size bed with white linen sheets. The living room end has a comfortable sofa from where you can enjoy TV and DVD or just gaze out over the pastoral view through French windows. These open out onto a large southwest-facing balcony, entwined with sweetly scented roses, honeysuckle and clematis. Here is a table and chairs for al fresco dining, shaded by the leaves of a walnut tree. From here, steps lead down to the heated pool and the sheltered south-facing terrace. CHURCH COTTAGE NO 2 , Clawton Sleeping up to 2 people Grade II Listed, 16th Century cottages set in the grounds of Claw House with their own gardens and off-road parking. Claw House is a family-run small holding which provides Bed and Breakfast Farmhouse accommodation. We grow our own fruit and vegetables and keep sheep, pigs, geese and chickens along with our own friendly pet ponies, cats, dog and rabbits. SANDFORD COTTAGE, Hawkchurch Sleeping up to 2 people Sandford Cottage is located on Southmoor Farm close to the village of Hawkchurch near Axminster, South East Devon. The very secluded and peaceful holiday cottage was rebuilt some 8 years ago to the original design with local stone, solid walls and exposed low timber beamed ceiling. Southmoor Farm is approximately 80 acres in total, 24 of which are used primarily for livestock. The majority of the land remains untouched and the result is acres of secluded 'wild' areas including woodland, meadows, ponds and streams for you to enjoy. Apart from being a birdwatchers paradise, we can boast a multitude of wildlife with badgers, deer, fox etc. The very attractive village of Hawkchurch is within 2 miles where the local pub serves home cooked food and the market town of Axminster is less than 3 miles.
