Walk the 0.75 miles to the Monks Retreat, an excellent 15th Century Inn with fabulous food. In a superb location but less than 4 miles from the fascinating historical towns of Totnes and Ashburton. Duckery Cottage is centrally located in the lovely South Hams village of Torcross. Famous for the WWII operation Tiger the village occupies a unique position at one end of a shingle bank in Stait Bay, known as Slapton Sands.
From the balcony of the cottage enjoy stunning views over Slapton ley, the National Nature Reserve and Bird sanctuary, to the countryside beyond.
Torcross is on the south Devon Coastal path and offers a starting point for numerous walks allowing enjoyment of some magnificent scenery.
The market town of Kingsbridge is 7 miles west and the naval town of Dartmouth just 8 miles north. A regular bus service runs through Torcross connecting these towns.

| FANCY'S COTTAGE, Dartmouth Sleeping up to 6 people
Part of a Listed Regency building, Fancy's Cottage is set in idyllic, sheltered valley hidden on the edge of Dartmouth. The River Dart, Dartmouth Castle and Sugary Cove are a gentle stroll from the cottage and access to the Devon Coastal path is across the road.
There is a launching slip for small boats in Warfleet Creek just down the hill. Dartmouth, which is reputed to be one of the most beautiful small towns in England, is a comfortable 15 minute walk away. From there, daily boat trips run up river to Totnes, Dittisham and Agatha Christie's famous house at Greenaway.
Sailing and fishing trips can also be arranged. During the summer a steam train runs from Kingswear to Goodrington Sands and Paignton. Woodlands Leisure Park, golfing at Dartmouth Country Club and Sorely Adventure Farm are all a short drive away. The renowned Blackpool Sands beach is three miles away.
