The local village Inn is a short stroll up the riverside. Keswick & Cockermouth are 6 miles away. Bassenthwaite Lake and Skiddow 2 miles. Osprey viewpoint 3 miles. Trotters Animal Farm 1 mile. Jemima Puddle Duck’s cottage tucked in the corner of the farmyard sleeps 5, spacious lounge/diner, with log fire, fitted kitchen. Rebecca’s Cottage overlooks the farmyard. Sleeps 2/3. A 17th century Lakeland hill farm with magnificent views from the sea to the highest point in England. The farm is situated at the foot of the beautiful Kentmere valley between the county town of Kendal and Lake Windermere.
The four cottages are traditionally constructed in stone and slate, each with its own garden and private parking. Decor is traditional, with rustic beams, full carpeting and comfortable furniture each with central heating, either oil or fired or electric storage. The farm has its own private water supply which is fed from a spring up on the fell. The water is beautiful and is tested by the local authority.
The farm is 1 mile outside the village of Staveley with its shops, pubs, church, railway station and bus routes. Windermere the largest of the lakes and Kendal the county town are each only 5 miles away. The situation is ideal for walking, cycling, relaxing, or as a touring centre for the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, and the Border country.

Flexbury lodge is a timber lodge situated within Aynsome Manor park, one mile from the historic village of Cartmel. The lodge is fully equipped to make your stay a memorable one.
The nine acre park lies within the Lake District National Park and is in a peaceful woodland area with two old mill ponds, streams and an orchard. Aynsome Manor hotel is renowned for its excellent restaurant.
Cartmel is beautiful medieval village which has several pubs and restaurants, including L'Enclume, one of the top restaurants in the country. The 12th Century priory, renowned for its secret passages, has a long and fascinating history and holds concerts as well as religious services.
Cartmel holds 6 races days a year and has beautiful scenery, attractive walks and lies only four miles from the southern tip of Windermere. This spacious cottage enjoys a tranquil position on the banks of the River Eden. It is situated within 100 acres of the owner's land, around which visitors are free to roam. It is an excellent base for walking the Eden Valley, the Pennine Hills and the Yorkshire Dales. Within the nearby area there is free fishing available on the river, a golf course and riding facilities.
Just two miles away is Kirkby Stephen which provides everyday shops and dining facilities. The old town of Sedbergh, with interesting shops and restaurants along its narrow cobbled streets, is also easily accessed along a very scenic route.
