The property is located 1 mile form the village centre of Holmfirth and its famous attractions such as Sids cafe and Noras house and the very quaint Last of the summer wine museum. The Barn is a 1 minute walk from the local real ale pub, with stunning views as you walk to the pub. The local co-op store is opposite the pub and caters for everything required for a self catering holiday, as well as a local small holding offering Free Range eggs and also a friendly chat about all things Holmfirth. ANSON HOUSE is a luxurious, newly built self-catering cottage on the outskirts of Malton (only 1 mile from both the railway and bus stations) yet completely surrounded by fields.
It is situated on a horse racing yard/thoroughbred stud and has been finished to a very high standard with the 27 hole golf course 150 yards (about a 7 iron) away.
There is always something in a name and Anson House is named after Avro Anson - bred, raised and raced from Star Cottage.
Avro completed two Grand Nationals, finished first in the Stayers Hurdles at Cheltenham and won a multitude of flat, hurdle and chase races for us and is still here in honorable retirement.

Foxglove Cottage - sleeps 3 in 2 bedrooms (1 double/ 1 single). Honeysuckle cottage - Sleeps 6 in 4 bedrooms (2 double/ 2 single). Primrose Cottage - sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms (1 twin/ 1 double).
The cottages have been comfortably and attractively furnished and are centrally heated throughout. They are situated only 10 miles from the sea and within the North York Moors National Park. Lealholm (1.5 miles) is a picturesque village with shop, pub & tea rooms. There are many pubs and visitor attractions nearby.
In all, a magnificent holiday location.

| ALMA COTTAGE, Kirkby Malzeard Sleeping up to 6 people
Alma Cottage has a great character and is of the highest quality - ETC 4 stars. Dating back to the 18th Century, it has low beamed ceilings and stone stairs, but a high standard of modern comforts. In winter the cast-iron stove is a cosy addition to the central heating, while in summer the south-facing stone-walled garden is a real sun trap.
The village of Kirkby Malzeard is a friendly one, and guests particularly like our local pub, the Henry Jenkins, and the high-class butcher across the road. Fish and chips, a light lunch or tea, or a full evening meal are all available in our street.
The wonderful scenery of the moors and dales surrounds the village - you can hear the curlew call from our garden!
